Practice Policies & General Information

At Mindsense Serenity, we are committed to providing compassionate, professional, and respectful psychiatric care. The following information is provided to help ensure a smooth and supportive experience for all patients.

Professional Conduct

All interactions between patients and providers are expected to reflect mutual respect, dignity, and courtesy. Our goal is to maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional environment that supports your care and well-being.

Insurance & Coverage

Mindsense Serenity is in-network with Medicaid, Medicare and select commercial insurance plans.

If you plan to use insurance, we encourage you to verify your behavioral health benefits, including co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements. Patient responsibility is determined by your individual insurance plan.

For out-of-network plans, a superbill can be provided upon request for possible reimbursement.

Private Pay Options

Private pay appointments are available for individuals who prefer not to use insurance.

Private Pay Rates

  • Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: $250–$300

  • Medication Management Follow-Up: $150

  • Psychotherapy Session: $160

Payment is due at the time of service.

​Payment Policy

Payment (to include patient's responsibility and co-pays) are due at the time services are provided.

We accept major credit and debit cards. To maintain secure and streamlined billing, we do not accept cash or check payments.

Balances must be kept current in order to continue scheduling appointments. If a balance remains unresolved, future appointments may need to be temporarily paused until the account is brought up to date.

Appointments & Scheduling

Session Lengths:

  • Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: 60–90 minutes

  • Medication Management Follow-Up: 20–30 minutes

  • Psychotherapy Session: 45 minutes

  • Psychiatric Genetic Testing Evaluation (GeneSight): 60 minutes (prior approval required)

Intake Paperwork Requirement

To ensure adequate time for clinical review and preparation, all intake paperwork must be completed at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Failure to complete required forms within this timeframe may result in rescheduling or cancellation of your appointment.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened to avoid delays for other patients. In some cases, late arrival may require rescheduling.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may be subject to a $75 late cancellation or no-show fee.

This policy helps ensure appointment availability for all patients in need of care.

Communication

For privacy and security, patients are encouraged to use the secure Patient Portal for clinical communication.

You may text or call Mindsense Serenity at 443-991-0090 for general questions regarding services and scheduling.

By contacting Mindsense Serenity via text, you consent to receive communications related to your care and services. SMS consent is not shared with third parties.

Please do not use text or voicemail for urgent or emergency medical concerns.

In case of an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Telehealth & Phone Sessions

Telehealth video sessions are available and are preferred when appropriate. Phone sessions may be permitted under limited circumstances.
